GREED Page 2
My eyes landed on a familiar figure as I held the door open.
"Well this is a nice surprise, Summer Gray?" I smirked, making it clear that I was checking her out.
"This is 7345 Blackberry lane right?" She began thinking out loud, she looked stressed, like she couldn't believe her eyes.
"Listen here missy, I need you to wash my dolly. And don't forget to scrub her hair really well." Amy's cute voice commanded from behind me.
"Come on in, Summer Gray." I smirked, an evil plan forming in my handsome head.
This would be fun.
Chapter 2: Trouble
Summer Gray
A million thoughts ran in my head when the door of the giant mansion opened. I had absolutely no trouble finding the giant house since it was the only giant two story mansion seen in a three mile radius.
It had white paneled balconies with a presidential appearance to it. The mansion took up an entire street corner and it was a beautiful sight to behold.
But I did not, in all my life, expect Aiden Black to be the one to open that door for me.
I had applied for a job in that house weeks ago when my family underwent a terrible financial crisis, but nothing seemed to add up.
The school badass was certainly not the first person I pictured to open that door.
I'd expected some snobby billionaires to hold that door open and immediately kick me out when they saw me.
And behind him stood a mini him. A conceited, demanding little six year old that he would probably corrupt and she'd end up like him.
"I need you to wash my dolly." She whined again, staring at me like I was scum off the streets. She crossed her little arms and glared at me.
"Or you could let me wash you." Aiden whispered in my ear, he was standing dangerously close, I felt my cheeks heat up, my breath hitched.
"Of course, where's your," I cleared my throat, "dolly."
"Upstairs maid!" The little brat said. Like brother like sister. I laughed at my thought. If I ignored Aiden, maybe he would leave me alone.
"You know we could do a whole lot upstairs." Aiden smirked. Ignore him. Ignore him.
I turned to face him as he gave me a challenging look.
"Well Mr. Black." I said politely, my mom always told me to kill assholes with kindness, or something like that.
"I should probably go wash up your sister's dolly." I smiled politely at the annoying arrogant boy standing in front of me, "and in case you were wondering, I have a boyfriend."
"Hurry up maid!" Mini Aiden yelled, crossing her arms and glaring at me.
"Look kid," I began.
"It's your majesty to you missy." She frowned. I heard Aiden stifling a laugh behind me.
Already five minutes into the job and they've already made my life a living hell.
"Okay, your majesty." I said, hearing Aiden's full on laughter party behind me. "Can you please shut up?" I turned around to glare at him, instantly I couldn't help but smile at his laughing self. He seemed so genuine like this.
"Attention on me!" The little girl whined, "now go wash dolly! She hasn't taken a bath in a week!"
"Okay kid," annoyed, I said.
"It's your majesty!" She whined again, stomping her little feet up the stairs as I followed.
Aiden placed his hand on my waist. I turned to glare at him, missing the next step of the stairs. I began falling backwards until he grabbed my butt and pulled me back into the stairs.
"What part of I have a boyfriend do you not understand?" I pursed my lips as we reached the top of the stairs.
"What part of I just saved your life do you not understand?" He countered.
"I wouldn't have died from falling down the stairs." I said as he stared at me sharply.
"Want to try and see?" He smirked devilishly, pulling me off the floor.
"No! No! Stop! Please Aiden put me down!" I panicked, fear striking my every feature. I had a huge fear of heights.
"Put her down! She has to wash dolly!" For once throughout this first day of work, I was actually thankful the little brat was there. Aiden is unpredictable, or so I've heard.
"Okay Amy, and what will she do after she washes dolly?"
"Your majesty!" She yelled giggling, this time directing it at her brother.
"Amy." He gave her a dangerous look that scared the living crap out of me.
"Okay Ace," She politely said, pulling out her dolly from under the bathroom sink.
"Ace huh?" I said, my feet landing onto safety again.
"Nobody calls me that." He quickly said. It must be a family thing, something that bothered him.
"Hmm. That's new, I like it Ace."
"Look here maid, we don't pay you to talk all day, here's dolly, wash her and dry her and give her to me before it's four thirty." The little brat said huffing away into a giant room, leaving the door open a bit. I glanced at the pink inside her room. Spoiled rich kids.
I stepped into the bathroom, I can't believe them, these rich spoiled people who have time to wash their own dolls but instead get maids to do it for them.
"Don't miss me too much, I'm going to be back by eleven. If you're not still here, then Amy here will have to fire you since she did the same with Paula."
"I won't, I mean, I can't, I still haven't started on my homework yet Ace." I said abruptly.
"Should've brought your stuff here then. I need you to wash the dishes and clean the windows, I'll let you off the hook today."
"And where will you be going?"
"My strip club." He winked, walking into his room and leaving me alone to wash a silly doll. I placed soap in its hair and began washing it all out. How the hell do you even dry a doll?
My eyes spotted a hair dryer, that's how.
I plugged in the machine and turned it on ad hit air began blowing onto the plastic doll. I zoned out for a couple seconds until I felt something hot sting my hand. I looked at the melted plastic. Holy hell, her majesty is going to kill me for melting her doll.
Aiden Black
I grimaced at the naked women in front of me. None of them had the same messy hair as Summer or the loud annoying mouth.
"Hey Aiden, you promised?" One of the strippers said, pushing me up against a wall and pressing her lips on mine. I wouldn't let her take control and in one swift movement spun her to where she'd be facing the wall. A sexy gasp escaped her lips making me want more. I pulled off the little material she had on and dragged her into one of the many rooms, watching as a large group of men walked in. Business was doing well tonight.
I threw off the bedsheets, not knowing if they'd been cleaned and threw the prostitute onto the bed.
I grinned widely as she moaned at my very touch. I smiled widely, grabbing a condom from one of the drawers and putting it on. I smiled at the girl as I pounded against her. Round 5.
I stood up, putting my clothes back on and checking the time on my watch.
It was only ten but a small voice in my head told me I'd better head home now, I had a sense that summer had created as big problem and everything in me was telling me to go home.
I walked down the street and hopped onto my motorcycle, thoughts of smoking flew into my mind but disappeared just as quickly. I promised her majesty that I wouldn't and I'm a man of my word.
Thoughts of my house being on fire or Amy getting hurt crossed my mind. I felt like I'd just left my home to a homicidal idiot. Call me crazy but Summer didn't seem to have any kind of enthusiasm toward her new job, or maybe it was because she was working for me.
Bad scenarios kept getting worse as I approached my unburnt, normal looking mansion.
I parked my motorcycle, hopping off and running to the front door.
I heard screams.
This can not be good.
Chapter 3: Secrets
Summer Gray
I glared at the little monster as she began screaming once again over her dismantled doll.
"You ruined dolly!" She shouted after she saw it in front of her bedroom
door. I hid in the kitchen, trying to avoid her for the next few hours.
I had washed the dishes and cleaned the windows, which were a lot in this giant house.
"Listen calm down Amy." I said, trying to Shush her before the neighbors heard. She'd found me in the balcony, wiping down the glass.
"YOUR MAJESTY!" She shouted, throwing her precious dolly across the room. I hate children.
"Ok listen your majesty, I'll buy you another dolly, look I'm really sorry. " The small six year old had tears streaming down her bratty little face.
"But that one mommy and daddy gave me to." She wiped her tears, looking at me.
"I'm so sorry Amy, I truly. . ." I began but she cut me off.
"Your majesty!" She screeched again as I felt a dark presence enter the room.
"Glad to see you're still here. " Aiden winked casually as he walked up to his little sister, "What happened Aimes, why are you crying?" He got down on one knee.
I believe this is a side of Aiden Black he prefers to hide from the world and I had no intention of making him out to be a good guy.
My phone buzzed. A text from Ryder.
Hey babe, how's your first day of work?
I smiled, Ryder was the perfect boyfriend, so affectionate and caring. He had a smile that could make me happy even on my worst days.
"Ok Aimes, tomorrow I'll make sure Summer and me buy you a new dolly." I heard him say. Excuse me, did he just say both of us, together? I was not going to buy a silly doll for his bratty little sister with him.
"Summer and I." I corrected, staring at my phone screen.
Awful without you being here. I texted back.
"Okay. Fine, but you can't wash my new doll." Amy screeched, grabbing the disfigured dolly and hugging it tightly as she made her way up the stairs.
"First day on the job and you burn her doll, talk about great customer service." Aiden smirked.
"I should probably get going. Now that you're here." I said.
"Not so fast." He reached for my wrist. "I need you to make my bed." He grinned cheekily.
"Me in the same room with you? Alone? In your dreams."
"Well I guess I'll have to cut your salary in half then."
"Aiden! You can't do that. "
"Actually Princess," he took a step forward, "I can." He whispered, his face too close for comfort. His breath fanning my face. I felt my heart rate increase, stuck in his eyes.
My phone buzzed again.
Can't wait to see you tomorrow babe. Good night. Ryder texted.
"He's cheating on you." Aiden said casually, after reading my text, and walked away.
"No he's not, if he was I would know. And why don't you keep your nose on your face and out of my business."
"Just saying." He smirked, putting his hands up in defense.
"No he isn't. What the hell makes you say that?!" I said frustrated. "It's probably another one of your sick jokes to try to get into my pants. Well it's not working because Ryder and I. We're like Romeo and Juliet without the death and I trust him, we've been dating for. . ." I began, realizing that was the worst analogy ever to be made.
"Woah there. I don't need a life story princess, make my bed and you can leave." He chuckled. Laughing at my annoyance.
"It is true, though. have you two had sex yet?" He asked that uncomfortable question so casually. He asked it like he was asking what my favorite color was.
"That is none of your business." I huffed, baffled as I turned away.
"It'll bet you haven't," he chuckled snobbily. I hate this boy and his family, "so since he can't let loose on you, Ryder, your so called boyfriend, let's loose on other women, if you catch my drift."
"No. I do not catch your drift you hooligan. And I assume you're just saying this to get in my head you inconceivable little asshole."
"Ouch, that's no way to talk to your boss. And I'm just telling you the truth, getting in your head is just a bonus." He smirked, taking another step closer.
I backed up. "Look I'll make your bed if you stay down here and wait."
"Who's to say you won't steal anything?" He winked.
"Why the hell would I? You know what. You're the single handedly most immature and annoying guy I have ever met." I began but couldn't say anything else as I realized how close we'd gotten. He was beautiful close up, his blue eyes holding untold secrets.
"How can you say that when I have this effect on you? His breath fanned my face as my heart rate accelerated. I stepped away, trying to calm the blood racing to my cheeks.
"You're a terrible human being." I said walking up the stairs avoiding eye contact.
Aiden Black
A terrible human being. Her words really hit the spot as I walked behind her up the stairs staring at her ass.
"Stay out here." She said, walking into my room. It was almost eleven by now and I wanted her to stay. Nobody had ever insulted me so much in one night. And I appreciated hearing the truth escape her lips. She walked in my room and seconds later I heard a loud thud.
"Summer?" I laughed walking into my room and seeing her lying face down on my carpet. She had tripped over my gray sweater that I had so carelessly tossed on the floor this morning.
"You jerk." She announced, "help me up."
"How about I join you while you're down?" I winked as she gave me a disgusted look.
"You're sick you know that."
"I've been told, clumsy." I smirked holding my hand out for her to grab. She hesitated to take hold of my hand but did anyway. I pulled her up with such force that it knocked us both back. She screamed, landing on me, knocking the breath out of me as I gave her my famous heart stopping half smile.
"I knew you'd fall for me." I looked at her brown eyes as she rolled them, pushing herself off of me.
"Jerk." She muttered, her cheeks aflame. She turned her attention to the messy bed sheets. She didn't say anything but I knew exactly what she was thinking.
"No, I haven't done anything but sleep this week." I smirked.
"Thanks for the information but I wasn't asking."
"You were thinking it." I crossed my arms as she turned toward me, she was practically drooling at the muscles of my arms.
"What are you? Some kind of mind reader? And no I wasn't thinking that." She said, turning back to the bed and removing the sheets.
"I don't have to be a mind reader to know that you want me. I can see it in your eyes."
"Well then you should get your eyes checked, because I think you might be blind." She countered, replacing the pillow cases and folding the sweater I had on the bed neatly.
"Feisty, just how I like them." I smirked as she began walking toward me with an arm full of month old bed sheets.
"I'm leaving." She announced, pushing the sheets into my arms as she began jogging down the stairs.
"See you tomorrow clumsy."
"Ace." She muttered in acknowledgement, stepping out of my front door.
Summer Gray
I can't stand that idiot. Getting into my head by telling me Ryder was cheating. Ryder King does not cheat, I know this for a fact, we've been dating for two years and not once has he pushed me for anything I wasn't ready for.
I walked into my house, looking at mom's worried face.
"I hate Aiden Black." I announced. Exhausted, I put my head on the couch and fell asleep.
"Summer, sweetheart, you should probably go sleep in your room? It's more comfortable. " I heard mom's calm voice say as she patted my arm.
"I'm sorry for being so mean to you mom. It's just, ever since dad went to work in New Jersey I can't concentrate on anything so I was looking for jobs yesterday and today was supposed to be my first day. I'm working as a maid for the annoying Aiden and Amy Black." I yawned as mom hugged me.
"It's alright sweetie. Just make sure school comes first."
Shit. I forgot about my homework. A wave of panic surged through me.
Stupid Aiden and Amy's dumb dolly.
I quietly walked up the
stairs to begin working on my homework.
Aiden Black
I sat up in my newly made bed thanks to Summer Gray. I couldn't get her annoyingly cute attitude out of my head, I may as well be going insane.
It was almost midnight, the police would be at Luzerne, my strip club, any minute now. I glared at the chandelier in my room before standing up and walking over to my balcony, a cigarette in hand.
You promised. Amy's tiny voice played in my head. I threw the entire pack down, watching it fall before I started having second thoughts.
I knew I was pushing Summers buttons when I'd told her about Ryder cheating on her and it was absolutely true. I'd seen him with my own eyes.
Which I need to have checked, according to Summer.
I just had to find some way to prove to her that I wasn't lying.
And I would find a way.
Chapter 4: Unwanted Kindness
"I want you to fire her!" Amy barged into my room, proclaiming. Her little arms still wrapped around her disfigured dolly with dried tears on her face.
"Give her a chance Aimes, it's only been one day. "I sat up in bed stretching.
"But she burned dolly in one day. If you give her two days she's going to burn down the house and then the whole wide world." Amy exaggerated, a worried grin on her cute face as she sat beside me.
"I wish you could stay home with me every day. I don't want to be stuck with the witch." She whispered the last part adorably as she hopped off my bed and left dolly on the floor.
I promised I'd buy her a new one today and Aiden Black always keeps his promises.
Summer Gray
I watched Ryder from a distance, this is the guy I was hoping to marry someday, was he cheating? He couldn't be. He wouldn't be, he fought for me yesterday in the bathroom against idiotic Aiden, meaning he'd gotten jealous over nothing. Aiden was just trying to get into my head, and congratulations he did.
I watched him speak to the girls around him, each girl clinging to his every word. He was quite perfect, and I trust him. I'm not willing to throw away our two perfect years all because of a dumb rumor by Aiden Black. I mean who even believes him, Aiden's always messing around with any girl. And I was just another one to add to his list.
